Newcastle Rugby Foundation is proud to announce a new partnership with Rispin2Blues, a North East community fund established in memory of Andrew Rispin, a much-loved Blaydon Rugby Club (BARUFC) player and coach.
The Rispin2Blues Fund was created to celebrate Andrew’s passion for rugby and his lifelong commitment to helping others enjoy the sport he loved. Its mission is simple but powerful — to support young people in need to access and continue to enjoy rugby, ensuring that no one misses out on the opportunities, friendships, and sense of belonging that the game brings.
Through this partnership, Newcastle Rugby Foundation and Rispin2Blues will work together to:
Provide financial and practical assistance for young players who may face barriers to participation, such as kit, travel, or club fees.
Promote rugby’s inclusive values across the region, encouraging more young people to experience the benefits of sport.
Deliver community projects and engagement programmes that create lasting impact both on and off the field.
“Rugby has always been about more than just the game — it’s about community, connection, and opportunity. The Rispin2Blues Fund reflects those same values, and we’re honoured to continue Andrew’s legacy by helping more young people thrive through rugby.”
Melanie Magee, CEO, Newcastle Rugby Foundation
By joining forces, Newcastle Rugby Foundation and Rispin2Blues will ensure that Andrew’s love of the game continues to inspire future generations, keeping his spirit alive in every young person who pulls on their boots and takes to the field.
