Newcastle Rugby Foundation is proud to announce its continued partnership with AK Teaching for a second consecutive year, reaffirming its commitment to the local community and developing young people across the North East through sport.

This year, AK Teaching continues its support for the Schools Connections Programme, an initiative working with schools to introduce rugby to children from diverse backgrounds. The programme promotes physical and mental well-being, teamwork and the development of essential life skills through rugby’s core values, especially for those who may not otherwise have the opportunity.

In addition to these activities the Newcastle Rugby Foundation will also provide opportunities for students to participate in match day experiences, including two guard of honour and mascot places.

Jonny Greener, director of AK Teaching, said: “We’re delighted to continue our partnership with the Newcastle Rugby Foundation for a second year, supporting the Schools Connections programme and inspiring more young people to get involved in sport.

“Rugby is a great way for young people to develop skills such as teamwork and leadership, and we’re really proud to be supporting the club’s drive to help more young people fall in love with the game and really reap the benefits of being more active.

“We are more than just an agency, we are a partner to our schools who go above and beyond, ensuring that we’re supporting the schools, and ultimately the pupils, beyond simply providing great quality staffing.”

Melanie Magee, head of Newcastle Rugby Foundation, said: “We are delighted AK Teaching have continued to grow their partnership with Newcastle Rugby Foundation for a second year.

“We love to partner with organisations with similar values as ours. AK Teaching certainly embodies our dedication to using the benefits of participation in physical activity for young people to improve their well-being, communication and teamwork to support their academic studies.

“Their generosity has afforded us the ability to take these sessions to more schools in areas we have so far been unable to reach – so we extend a huge thank you to Jonny, Kallie, Emily and the team.”

By supporting this programme for the second year, AK Teaching continues to play a vital role in strengthening the local community and providing young people with the skills and opportunities to thrive. The partnership represents AK Teaching’s long-term commitment to fostering positive change through education and sport.
