For five weeks, we have been running disability multi-sports and tag rugby sessions at the Tyneside Badminton Centre. The session so far has been a great success with an excellent turnout at every session.
The sessions are designed to cater to everyone, making sure that everyone feels included and enjoys the activities. Our Falcons Community Development Officers make sure that each session is well-structured, engaging, and tailored to meet the needs of each participant.
During the sessions, there are a range of activities that help promote physical development and improve overall fitness.
This space is a safe and welcoming environment where participants can come together and have fun while improving their physical fitness and social skills. We strongly believe that everyone should have access to sports and recreational activities and these sessions.
Falcons Community Development Officer, Stephen Parson said: “It has been a great 5 weeks of delivery for our participants with some new members coming along and having a go at new activities.
We have delivered a range of games and activities including catching skills, tag Rugby games, tagging games and we have been developing new skills with the inclusion of badminton into the sessions.
We always welcome new participants to come and have a go at all the activities provided. it’s great to see all the smiles on the faces and players showing teamwork, resilience, friendship, skill, belonging and laughter.”
This session will continue to take place every Monday over the next five weeks at the Tyneside Badminton Centre between 5 pm-6 pm.
