Apprentice Falcons Community development officer, Michael Pentland, has been shortlisted for the Apprentice Community and Health Officer – Coach Core Awards 2024.

This is a remarkable achievement and a testament to his hard work and dedication. This award celebrates a Coach Core Apprentice who has done outstanding work on their Community Sport & Health Officer (Level 3) programme.

Michael credits the Falcons Community HITZ programme on which he previously studied on for his recent success. The programme, which is delivered in partnership with Newcastle College, has provided him with the support and training he needed to excel in his current role as an Apprentice Community Development Officer at Newcastle Rugby Foundation where he now delivers sessions on the HITZ programme.

HITZ is an education and employability course that runs in partnership with Newcastle College and Premiership Rugby. The programme aims to re-engage young people in education using sport as a vehicle.

We wish him all the best in the finals and hope to see him win the award. Congratulations, Michael, on this outstanding achievement.
