Newcastle Rugby Foundation’s moment of the month for January is awarded to Ashington Rugby Club.
In December, Ashington Rugby Club came together to host a charity fixture in support of Dementia UK. The event was held at Ashington RFC and saw a total of 120 players registered to participate. The match was played between Albert’s XV and Rest of the World XV, and both teams put on an impressive display.
The event was a huge success, with a great turnout from spectators who came out to support the players and raise funds for a worthy cause. Apart from the match itself, there were many activities on offer to keep everyone entertained. There was a tombola with a range of prizes, a raffle with some great items, and a post-game auction that had some incredible pieces up for bid.
After the event it was announced that Ashington had successfully raised over £11,300 so far for Dementia UK. This is a remarkable achievement and a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved.
