Falcons Community has had a successful 12 weeks of Falcons Fit, where an incredible 30 participants attended weekly sessions, demonstrating their enthusiasm and commitment to improving their health.
The programme combined rugby-themed activities, strength and conditioning gym sessions, and healthy lifestyle workshops which were delivered in partnership with Nuffield Health. The participants were also encouraged to increase their movement outside the weekly sessions by setting weekly step count goals.
Falcons Community worked closely with Nuffield Health to provide health and lifestyle workshops to help improve the overall health and well-being of the participants. The workshops focused on a range of topics, including healthy eating habits, physical activity, and emotional well-being and resilience. The participants were also provided with guidance on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle beyond the programme.
It’s amazing to see that many members are sharing their success stories of what they have achieved, including reduced blood pressure, healthier eating habits, increased step count, inches lost around the waist and weight loss. These achievements are a testament to the effectiveness of the programme, and the commitment shown by the participants.
As part of the programme, and as a celebration on completion the participants had the opportunity to attend the Newcastle Falcons v Montpellier game, where they took part in a Falcons Fit Parade around the pitch and a half-time presentation showcasing their achievements.
Julie, who attended the programme with her daughter Katherine, said ” Thank you to everyone for encouraging Katherine over the last few weeks she has had a great time at Falcons Fit. I have never known her to enjoy exercising so we will be back in January.”
Falcons Fit will resume in the New Year, starting on Wednesday, January 24. Keep an eye out for further information on how to sign up.
