The Newcastle Rugby Foundation (NRF) is delighted to announce the continuation of its longstanding partnership with Fusion For Business (FFB) to drive the growth of rugby in the North East.
Together, the organisations will deliver the NRF Club Connections programme powered by FFB, an initiative to increase access to rugby for schools and communities while promoting transitions to local clubs.
This partnership will focus on expanding rugby participation across the region and create lasting connections between schools and local rugby clubs, fostering long-term engagement in the sport. FFB will provide invaluable support to both schools and clubs, offering expertise and resources that promote sustainability.
Throughout the programme schools will receive rugby coaching which aims to introduce rugby to new audiences and inspire a love for the sport among young people. Local rugby clubs will host transition festivals with the support of FFB, bridging the gap between school and club rugby.
As part of FFB’s sustainability efforts, they will deliver net zero assemblies in participating schools, educating students on environmental responsibility. FFB will also assist schools in creating net zero strategies and conducting energy reviews to improve sustainability, which could save schools money that they can then put back into other vital school services.
Newcastle Rugby Foundation and Fusion for Business are committed to working together to build a sustainable future for rugby in the North East. This partnership not only supports the growth of the sport but also promotes a shared vision of sustainability, community wellbeing and long-term engagement.
FFB said: “At Fusion for Business we truly value the enduring partnership we’ve built, which highlights our commitment to supporting local communities. It’s rewarding to assist grassroots sports while also offering schools and clubs practical solutions for saving money and achieving their net zero goals. We look forward to seeing this partnership grow and thrive as we continue working together.”
Melanie Maggee, CEO of the Newcastle Rugby Foundation, said, “We are delighted to have such a loyal longstanding partnership with FFB, showing their dedication to the community.
“It is great that we can support grassroots sport whilst also offering schools and clubs further support in the form of money-saving advice and services as well as helping with net zero plans.
“We are looking forward to continuing to evolve and develop this great partnership.”
