During the February half-term, Kingston Park Stadium and Bede Secondary hosted coaching camps, organised, and delivered by Newcastle Rugby Foundation.
The coaching camps are designed to cater to all age groups, allowing participants to take part in a range of rugby skills, games, and activities including passing, tackling, kicking, and game tactics.
On the second day of the coaching camp, the participants were treated to a special guest appearance by the Newcastle Falcons, bringing with them knowledge and experience to share with the aspiring players. During the session, the Falcons players showed the participants some of their best tips and tricks, giving them invaluable insights.
The last two days of coaching camps were held at Bede Secondary who kindly let us use their facilities due to unusable pitches at the original venue. These sessions were also kindly supported by the Inn Collection Group, giving children the opportunity access to the camps as well as a healthy cooked meal.
Andrew Robson from the Inn Collection Group said: “We were delighted to support Newcastle Rugby Foundation camps during the February half-term and help youngsters across the area get active in a fun and safe environment.
Our support was part of a range of efforts to help families that week, which included a kids eat free promotion in our inns across the north of England and Wales which we repeat regularly throughout the year.”
“With spring just around the corner, we also handed the participants vouchers so they can enjoy a seaside treat at Oswins and Cones at The Tynemouth Castle Inn and look forward to seeing them come down and visit us there”
The Foundation is already looking forward to the next round of coaching camps, which will take place during the April Half-term (dates will be released shortly). These camps will continue to help the participants develop their rugby skills, promote teamwork, and provide a fun and engaging way to spend the holidays.
