Join Newcastle Rugby Foundation and make a lasting impact as funding and insights manager

Newcastle Rugby Foundation is the official charitable arm of Newcastle Falcons. Our purpose is to make rugby the positive difference that changes lives for good, and over the last 20 years, we have supported over 300,000 people through our programmes. But we know there is more to be done to support the people of the North East, which is why we’re looking for a Funding and Insights Manager to help us attract new funding streams so that we can continue to impact those in our community who need it the most.

Based at Kingston Park Stadium, you will be required to develop and deliver a clear fundraising strategy that uses insight and data in a compelling and meaningful way to attract new revenue opportunities, predominantly through grant funding.

You’ll be working to ensure that funding for programmes is balanced between small, medium, and large partners and monitoring programmes to guarantee they’re relevant to the needs of the communities in which we operate, while achieving their aims and objectives. You will also be responsible for recording and tracking data to ensure we are creating the impact agreed with partners.

We’re looking for an organised and energetic self-starter, someone who is committed to going the extra mile to secure funding so that we can reach even more people in the North East. It goes without saying that we’re about people, so you’ll need to be a team player with a supportive and compassionate outlook.

This role requires someone who isn’t afraid to roll their sleeves up, develop processes, and shout about our impact to attract and inspire new partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Submit funding bids to ensure targets are met.
  • Secure funding from trusts, businesses, and individuals while maintaining an up-to-date database of opportunities.
  • Research and identify prospective grant opportunities aligned with our programmes.
  • Oversee all aspects of funding, from launch to delivery, including reporting and budget monitoring.
  • Develop project management processes to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct performance monitoring and evaluation, data uploads, and CRM updates.
  • Prepare and present reports on programme performance to stakeholders.
  • Represent Newcastle Rugby Foundation at meetings, conferences, and events.
  • Assist the CEO and Marketing & Communications Executive with fundraising campaigns.
  • Execute the NRF Fundraising Strategy, prioritising foundations, trusts, and Games legacy giving.
  • Work with the Marketing & Communications Executive to maximise exposure of Newcastle Rugby Foundation.
