Newcastle Rugby Foundation is proud to announce Becky as the second participant selected for its “Faces of the Foundation” campaign, celebrating the incredible individuals who embody the spirit and values of the Foundation.

Becky attends the Foundation’s weekly Monday night learning disability rugby sessions, where participants develop rugby skills, teamwork, confidence and friendships in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Known for her fun-loving personality, Becky brings energy and positivity to every session. Whether she’s dancing, listening to music, making TikToks with friends or cheering on her teammates, Becky’s happiness is infectious and lights up the group each week.

The Foundation selected Becky as a Face of the Foundation because she perfectly represents what the programme is all about. Fearless in everything she does, Becky throws herself into every activity with enthusiasm and encouragement for others. She is a fantastic friend to everyone in the team and constantly demonstrates kindness, confidence and support for those around her.

Becky first became involved in rugby after being inspired by her mum, who also plays the sport. Wanting to follow in her footsteps, Becky joined the Foundation’s sessions and has become a hugely valued member of the team ever since.

The Foundation’s learning disability rugby programme is unique within the North East, providing weekly, continuous sessions that give participants a true sense of belonging and community. The regular sessions help players build friendships, confidence and routine, while giving them the opportunity to be part of a supportive team environment.

Speaking about Becky’s impact, Newcastle Rugby Foundation Community Officer Stephen Parsons said:

“Becky is someone who instantly brings joy to everyone around her. She has no fear, always gives everything a go and is constantly supporting her teammates. She represents our values perfectly and reminds us every week what inclusion, friendship and rugby are all about.”

Newcastle Rugby Foundation remains committed to creating opportunities for people of all abilities to access sport, improve wellbeing and feel part of a community through rugby.

This Foundation Day, on Saturday 30th May, they are aiming to raise £10,000 for their incredible life-changing work. Buy a ticket to the game and show your support. For more information on our Learning Disability Sessions and how to get involved, email [email protected]
