Newcastle Falcons were proud to support the Newcastle Rugby Foundation as it hosted the 2024 HITZ Graduation Awards at Kingston Park Stadium on Thursday May 22. The event was a powerful celebration of the resilience, growth and achievements of young people taking part in the Foundation’s HITZ programme, delivered in partnership with Newcastle College.
HITZ is the Foundation’s flagship enrichment and support programme, designed to help young people at risk of social isolation or disengagement from education. Many HITZ learners have faced significant personal and academic challenges and the programme provides a fresh pathway to develop life skills, gain qualifications and build confidence for the future.
The graduation ceremony brought together students, families, staff and supporters to reflect on a transformative year. From re-engaging with education to preparing for employment or further training, the journey these young people have taken is nothing short of inspiring.
We extend a huge thank you to Lysa Morrison for hosting the event and bringing such energy and warmth to the room. Special thanks also to Falcons players Callum Chick and Max Clark, who generously gave their time to speak with the graduates and share words of encouragement that will stay with them for years to come.

We’re also grateful to Marlish Water for providing refreshments and helping to keep our guests hydrated throughout the evening.
Most importantly, we applaud every single student who graduated this year. Your hard work, commitment and courage have been remarkable, and everyone at Newcastle Falcons and Newcastle Rugby Foundation is incredibly proud of what you have achieved.
