Newcastle Rugby Foundation is proud to announce the South Shields Beach Festival, taking place on Sunday July 6, 2025 from 3pm – 6pm, as part of the official countdown to the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025.
Set against the beautiful backdrop of South Shields Beach, the festival promises a vibrant, family-friendly day packed with rugby-inspired beach games, interactive activities, live entertainment, and local food and drink – all celebrating the region’s role in hosting the world’s best female rugby players this summer.
The event has been made possible thanks to Newcastle Rugby Foundation’s successful bid to deliver this celebration, in partnership with the North East Combined Authority. South Shields Beach Festival is one of several official activation events taking place across the North East in the lead-up to the tournament, with the Stadium of Light in Sunderland among the key host venues.
