We’re excited to open our ballot for the Great North Run 2026, giving runners the chance to take on one of the world’s most iconic events while helping make rugby the positive difference that changes lives across the North East.
By running for Newcastle Rugby Foundation, you’ll be supporting programmes that boost wellbeing, build skills and create opportunities for children, young people and adults who need it most.
Charity Places Available
We have 12 exclusive charity places available for the Great North Run 2026.
Successful applicants will be asked to:
- Pay a £50 non-refundable deposit to secure their place
- Commit to raising a minimum of £300 for Newcastle Rugby Foundation
Once the ballot closes, we’ll be in touch to confirm places and provide full details, including payment and fundraising information.
Join Our GNR Heroes
All runners will become part of our GNR Heroes — a dedicated support network designed to help you feel confident, prepared and connected throughout your journey.
As a GNR Hero, you’ll receive:
- Access to a WhatsApp group with fellow runners
- Weekly check-ins from our team
- FREE fitness classes at Kingston Park to support your training
- Social media assets to proudly show you’re running for Newcastle Rugby Foundation
- A free branded running vest for race day
You won’t be doing this alone — you’ll be running as part of a team, with support every step of the way.
