Are you looking for a fun activity to fill your summer evenings?
Newcastle Rugby Foundation is calling everyone aged 16+, male or female, to get involved in this year’s Summer of Touch.
Touch rugby is a fast, exciting, sociable, non-contact form of the game and a great way to get fit in the summer evenings.
Kicking off the summer leagues, we are excited to introduce a new females-only mini-touch league every Wednesday for four weeks throughout May and June, starting on May 22 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
Teams will play a minimum of two fixtures each night on the main pitch at Kingston Park. Over the four weeks each team will play everyone at least once, with the winners of the overall league being crowned champions.
Team entries are priced at £150 for the four-week league.
We are also happy to announce our ever-popular eight-week league will start on Wednesday June 19 and will run from 6.30pm to 9pm at Kingston Park.
Open to players of all abilities, the league is perfect for experienced players, work colleagues, friendship groups and people new to rugby.
Each team will play a minimum of two fixtures and a maximum of four each Wednesday. Squads are up to 12 players, six-a-side, with a maximum of four males on the field for each team at one time.
Team entries are priced at £300 for the eight-week league.
We also have our Beach Touch Rugby Festival scheduled to take place on Sunday August 11 from 11am at Tynemouth’s Longsands, priced at £40 per team.
