Newcastle Rugby Foundation’s Summer of Touch is back for 2026, bringing eight weeks of fast-paced rugby and social sport to Kingston Park.
Starting on Tuesday 3rd June, teams from across the region will come together for a league that blends competition, community and summer evenings spent on the pitch. The league runs through to finals night on Tuesday 22nd July, where teams will compete for top spot in a showcase finish to the programme.
Summer of Touch has been designed to welcome all abilities. For those with experience in the game, the competitive league offers structured fixtures, official rules and the chance to test yourself against strong local opposition. Alongside that, the social league creates a more relaxed environment, ideal for friends, workplaces and new players looking to get involved. With adapted rules, mixed teams encouraged and a focus on enjoyment, it offers an accessible way to stay active and be part of something.
Each team entry is £240, covering the full eight-week league as well as finals night.
More than just a competition, Summer of Touch is about bringing people together through rugby. It’s an opportunity to build connections, enjoy the game in a welcoming environment and be part of a growing community at Kingston Park across the summer months.
